    I thought we could use this thread to offer any suggestions for the Samsara responsive theme. I think anyone who wants to offer suggestions about other themes from this author could start a seperate thread using that themes name as the topic title.

    My suggestions for the Samsara theme:

    1. If there isn’t a current way of making the top navigation bar non-transparent, perhaps the page options can include an option for transparent navigation bar. Sometimes, when you choose a light image as the full width page header, it screws up the view a little for the links in the navigation bar. This way, if I’m creating a page and I use a light image as the header and I see that it’s messing with the visibility of my links, I can set the navigation bar to be opaque instead of transparent.

    2. Again, not sure if you can currently do this, but it would be nice to change the text above the contact form in the contact form template. I use this theme as an individual programmer and software developer so the text “Send us an email” doesn’t really apply to me. I’d rather like “Send me an email”. I’ve used a bit of javascript to workaround this until the feature is implemented.

    Go to Samsara Options >> Custom Styles. In the CSS Codes input box, add the following:

    .contactform > h3:nth-child(2) {
    display: none;
    }

    Now, in the Javascript Codes, add the following:

    contactforms = jQuery(".contactform");
    numContactForms = contactforms.length;
    console.log(numContactForms );
    if(numContactForms > 0) {
    contactforms.prepend("<h3>Send me an email</h3>");
    }

    Hi, KyleOBrienZA,

    Thanks for your suggestions!

    1. I will add a new option for disable or enable the translucent for the navigation bar. And in currently there’s a useful but manually solution, just add the following CSS into “Samsara options > Custom style > CSS code”.

    #top.top-opacity {background: Your color;}

    2. I include some inline text like “send us email” into the language file that use can create own language file and change the text with Poedit software. The other way is create own child theme, then you can edit any text to what you want without change the parent theme files.

    Anyway, I will add some options for change inline text in “Samsara Options > Contact page”.

    Thanks

    Thanks. That’s awesome.

    Just one thing, my suggestion was that the user be allowed to select the transparency of the navigation bar PER PAGE as opposed to a complete site wide option. Because different pages will have different header images, the links will look good against some images and bad against others.

    Thanks for the tip about the language files. I’ll have a look now….. 🙂

    Cheers
    Kyle

    I see, you mean add an option that allow users to adjust the transparency for each page separetely, right?
    I have already added this suggestion on my V1.05 update list

    Thank you!

    Oops, that final piece of javascript code should look like this. I’ve removed the useless console.log command.

    contactforms = jQuery(“.contactform”);
    numContactForms = contactforms.length;

    if(numContactForms > 0) {
    contactforms.prepend(“<h3>Send me an email</h3>”);
    }
